Preparing for Your Bridal Appointment

Preparing for Your Bridal Appointment

Feb 14, 2024

Hey Gorgeous! Congratulations on your engagement! Now that it’s time to start shopping for your wedding gown, all of us at Galleria Gowns are here to help.

So, first things first - scheduling an appointment! At Galleria Gowns, we offer online scheduling so that you can pick the time that works the best for you. Go ahead and schedule your appointment - we’d love to help you have a wonderful experience!

Here are some helpful tips to make sure you walk into your first wedding dress appointment feeling confident:

Before your Appointment

  1. Look at gowns online - It’s time to fire up that Pinterest account! Important things to look at are different dress silhouettes, necklines, and details like lace and sparkle!
  2. Think about your aesthetic - Think about what you want your wedding to be like. Do you want more of a romantic feel, or something more structured and modern? Are you going for a fairy garden vibe, or something traditional and classic?
  3. Determine a price point - Look at your wedding budget and discuss what you’re comfortable spending on a dress. Consider the cost of alterations, as well!
  4. Research the store - Check out the designers that each store carries, and take special note (or screenshots!) of any dresses in particular that catch your eye.
  5. Note any special requests - Some stores have special requests, like limits on guests, photography, or refreshments. Keep those requests in mind as you plan!

Getting the Most out of Your Appointment

  1. Bring pictures - All those dresses you loved online? Bring in pictures! Your stylist always appreciates photos to help guide what dresses they select for you. Don’t forget to keep an open mind, too. Your stylist knows all of our inventory and which dresses look best!
  2. Prepare yourself - Keep the spray tans to a minimum, wear flesh-toned undergarments, and practice good hygiene! Remember that the sample dresses you’re going to be trying on are valuable assets to the store, and many other brides will try on these dresses in the future, so good hygiene, undergarments, and limiting things like spray tans that will stain the dresses is important. We also prefer that you do not smoke immediately before your appointment, if you’re able.
  3. Hydrate and eat a light meal - Don’t forget to drink water and eat some food the day of your appointment. Nothing looks or feels good when you don’t feel well!
  4. Hair and makeup - If you already have an idea of what you might want to do for hair or makeup, try coming to your appointment with something similar! If not, that’s totally normal. Bring a hair tie or some bobby pins, just in case you want to try some different styles. Light makeup is also a great idea! Your pictures will look great and it will help you get a better idea of what you’ll look like on the big day.

We can’t wait to see you for your appointment! By following these tips, you’ll be well-prepared and ready to have a fun, exciting, positive experience.
